Review by hotel critic
Ah, my recent retreat to Almeria, a delightful mix of new experiences and familiar comforts. La Perla, perched conveniently near Purchena plaza, proved to be a hidden gem in the heart of the old town. As a Spanish chef always seeking culinary inspiration, I indulged in the local gastronomy. Imagine my delight stumbling upon Taberna Nuestra Tierra, just a stone's throw away, where the aroma of traditional tapas beckoned me.The hotel's simplicity made for a cozy escape, with its clean rooms and friendly staff. However, what truly set it apart was the restaurant's innovative take on Almerian cuisine. Breakfast, though lacking in vegetable options, showcased local flavors that left me craving more. A testament to the region's gastronomic prowess.Venturing out to explore Oasis 55 and Mirando Al Mar, I found myself immersed in the vibrant food scene, each bite telling a story of Almeria's rich culinary heritage. La Perla may not be opulent, but its authentic charm and culinary innovation make it a must-visit for fellow food enthusiasts seeking a taste of Almerian delights.
